Apartment Foto Friday turns 21 today. To celebrate, it's going to get wasted at the bar. (I'm kidding. Blog entries can't buy alcohol!!)
Being that it's been several months since this grand tradition began, I feel I need to explain again why I do these entries. This was explained in Apartment Foto Friday #1 on September 19, 2008:I recently began posting links to my blog posts on my Facebook page, and I’ve been getting some hits on my site from my friends. When I asked one of my friends if he clicked to the link to my Xanga site, he said, “Yeah. It looked interesting, and I’m sure you have some great ideas, but I saw a lot of words and no pictures so I left.” This person was a college-educated 31-year old man.
99% of the people I know in real life are aware that I keep a blog on Xanga, and 99% of those people don’t read it. Furthermore, 99% of the people who read my blog and comment are complete strangers. (These percentages are 99% accurate.) I don’t mind that most of the people I know in real life don’t read my blog (I kind of prefer it that way), and it boggles my mind that the strangers who do read my blog find me interesting (or claim to find me interesting). This site is generally one of those blogs that rarely posts pictures, and that is exactly why this blog is the most boring corner of cyberspace. I’m going to change things up. It’s not because people I know find it boring. It’s because I find it boring. I’m bored.
Today I’m premiering a new feature on Thumbchips and Other Conjectures: Apartment Foto Friday! Every Friday I’ll be posting pictures of stuff from my apartment. I would post pictures of other things, but I generally dislike taking pictures of anything that is not inside my apartment. Like all of my other blog posts, Apartment Foto Friday will still be about stuff that people don’t care about, but at least there will be pictures. After all, if people wanted to read, they could go back to college.
There you have it. That's how it all began. It will probably end soon. I'm running out of things to take pictures of.
Anyway, here's this week's foto:
This is in the corridor between my bedroom and bathroom. It's from Urban Outfitters.

Your taste in art is so .. random. lol.
Lots of art students here love to paint on wood like that. It looks like you got this from one of them.
Also, I love record players. I like setting them to the 45 speed and then press down on the record itself, to make it go from chipmunk voices to Satanic voices. I'm easily amused.
I think you should take pictures of your people-watching escapades. Or try one new thing (food? Starbucks drink?) every Friday, take a picture of it, and talk about it. I dunno. I'm really quite okay with text sans pictures.
I like seeing pictures of peoples apartments & spaces where they spend their time. I find it interesting. What about the outside of your apartment?
aha! if you're running low on imaginative picture taking paces, it is time to redecorate. for thousand if not tens of thousand of dollars OR MORE you can have a complety different picture. making your wall a giant fridge magnet (www.magnamagic.com and a paint store of your choice) or maybe you need something industrial in a motif, if so, Acid etched Concrete...has an array of colors that will brighten the concrete box. lichen covered sone tub (concrete) ya know the whole weird nine-yards.
I am glad I am in that 1%. But "friend" is a pretty strong word.
i don't know about most people, but i like pictures of hot girls a lot, so if u can make a day for that, i'd appreciate it, thanks.
This doesn't seem to fit your apartment's "style". I mean it's cool though. Just can't see how it fits with everything else.
I LOVE THAT!
Great piece of art, man.
And you got that at Urban Outfitters? Wow. Great find.
