see relatedStarbucks Story Tuesday: CappucciNOPE
I live in an area where there are a lot of television studios, and one of the TV shows that’s filmed nearby is Access Hollywood. Every Tuesday a camera crew from the show hangs out outside of Starbucks and interviews random people regarding current events in entertainment. They’ll ask for people’s opinions on things like how they feel about the death of Michael Jackson or if they think Sarah Palin should be shot for quitting and stuff like that.
I participated in a couple of these interviews and I’ve been on TV a couple of times. While it was exciting at first, it got really old really fast. Every week for the past six months the same people have been asking me if I want to be on TV, and every week for the past six months I’ve turned them down. I mean, they’re nice people and all. I just want to save America from seeing my face on TV again. Lately, it seems that they’ve been really desperate to get people to interview.
Last Tuesday I was walking toward Starbucks and the Access Hollywood lady said, “Hey, look at you!” She threw me a suggestive smile and a wink. “That jacket looks GREAT on you. Really sexy. How would you like to be on--”
“You don’t have to lie. I’m still not going to do it,” I said and kept walking.
“Oh, okay,” she said as she laughed at me.
Jeez.
